The large-scale institutional establishment of Buddhism in 15th century Mustang can be ascribed to the joint efforts of the Mustang king Amapal and the Tibetan Sakyapa master Ngorchen Künga Zangpo, the founder of Ngor Monastery in Tibet. Ngorchen visited Mustang three times at Amapal's invitation. This lecture introduces Ngorchen’s three Mustang sojourns and discuss the relationship between the successive Mustang kings and their religious preceptors from Ngor Monastery.
