Professional Development in Higher Education Programme
The aim of the programme is to provide lecturers with the knowledge, skills and training to help them be more effective and creative in their pedagogical delivery and academic support of learners. Reflective practise is at the programme's core and integrated within the programme is the UK Professional Standards Framework. The programme has recently received Higher Education Academy (HEA) accreditation.
Programme Aims:
- To introduce participants to theory, methodology and resources that will help them to plan, present, manage and evaluate students' learning and their own teaching.
- To provide participants with the opportunity to practice teaching skills in a supportive learning environment.
- To introduce newly appointed lecturers and teaching fellows to SOAS procedures, policies and practices related to learning and teaching.
- To support new members of teaching staff to develop discipline specific learning and teaching support skills
Please note that you must have completed either PDHEP Core Units Module 1 or GTA Module 1 in order to attend these.
