Date: 18 March 2013Time: 1:00 PM
Finishes: 18 March 2013Time: 3:00 PM
Venue: Russell Square: College BuildingsRoom: 4421
Type of Event: Workshop
Series: Study Skills Workshops
This interactive workshop provides an opportunity for taught postgraduates to discuss and evaluate their dissertation progress so far whilst looking ahead to the rest of the year. Additionally, it looks at what constitutes ‘good’ academic research, as well as offering strategies for effective time management and dealing with distractions and procrastination.
All PGT students are welcome. Ideally, however, participants will have already attended last term’s dissertation workshops run by the ADD and their projects will be underway. Students should bring an example of their work-in-progress (length is not important). This can be anything from rough notes or an abstract to a more structured sample of a chapter/section. The aim is for students to share, discuss and ask/answer questions about each other’s work in small groups.
The workshop will be led by Dr Reza Gholami, but other colleagues will be on hand (as availability permits) to interact with groups and answer queries, allowing students to benefit from a broader spectrum of expertise.
Registration is required. To register please complete the form on the right-hand side of this page.
