I would recommend the programme to anyone looking to gain an advanced understanding of financial theory from a first class academic staff at arguably one of the best universities in the world.

MSc Finance (major: Financial Sector Management)

After completing my first degree at the London School of Economics, I returned to Trinidad to start a career in investment banking and then later in investment management as a Portfolio Manager. As my career progressed, I wanted to continue my studies but I didn't want to leave my demanding job. CeFiMS offered me a flexible opportunity to study at my own pace and gain an internationally recognised degree from a truly international institution, the University of London.

I enrolled on the programme to develop an advanced thinking of economics and financial theory. The courses were well written, rigorous and the content was topical. The administrative team was friendly and always there to provide answers to my queries. I also made valuable contacts with tutors and students who engaged in intellectual and lively debates via the student portal; it felt as if I was on campus.

As the financial markets nearly collapsed in 2008-2009, I was able to apply the material I studied to provide solutions and navigate through the maze of financial institutions and products to select the most suitable investments for the funds I managed. My studies enabled me to secure a job at a regional bank in a senior role in investment banking. I would recommend the programme to anyone looking to gain an advanced understanding of financial theory from a first class academic staff at arguably one of the best universities in the world.
