  • I am considering applying for one of your MSc in Economics programmes - What is the level of mathematics required ?

    Information on the preliminary course will be sent with the offer letter or can be viewed on the Faculty website.

    The preliminary course in Mathematics and Statistics is compulsory for all of our MSc Economic programmes.  All applicants must attend and complete the course otherwise they will not be eligible to register on the Masters programme.

  • Is there a preliminary course for the MSc Economics programmes?

    The MSc Economics programmes start with a compulsory 3 week preliminary course in Mathematics and Statistics.

    You will not be permitted to enroll on any Economics Masters programmes unless you have fully attended and successfully completed the preliminary course. Further details will be included in the offer letter of admission to SOAS. There is no additional fee for this course.

  • When do the Economics programmes start?

    All MSc Economics programmes start on Monday 10 September 2012 with a compulsory three-week preliminary course in Mathematics and Statistics. 

    No late registration will be allowed on these programmes so if you are unable to enrol then  you will need to defer your place to the following year.

  • Is there a preliminary course for the MSc Finance and Financial Law?

    The MSc Finance and Financial Law starts with a compulsory 3 week preparatory course in Law and Legal Method and/or Financial Analysis. 

    You will not be permitted to enroll on the Finance and Financial Law Masters programme unless you have fully attended and successfully completed the preparatory course. Further details will be included in the offer of admission to SOAS. There is no additional fee for this course.

  • When does the MSc Finance and Financial Law start?

    The MSc Finance and Financial Law programme will start with a compulsory three-week preparatory course in the fundamental concepts of common law and of quantitative finance skills on 4 September 2012.

    Note that no late registration or exemption will be allowed on this programme and if you are unable to enrol on 4 September you may have to consider deferring your place to the following year.
