BA Hebrew and Israeli Studies

When 3 years ago, I went on a trip around Middle East I genuinely fell in love with its cultural diversity, mentality and nature. I started thinking of choosing Middle Eastern Studies, but I didn’t know where to go. Then I found out about SOAS and thought - this is a place for me to be, and I wasn’t wrong at all.

What SOAS offers is the lectures with world-class academics, who give you not only a thorough knowledge on the subject, but also stimulate you for individual thinking and make you enjoy the course. The option to take a ‘floater’ unit has made it possible for me to study both Hebrew and Arabic and let me gain a broader understanding of the complexity of the region like the Middle East.

The course is also structured in a way that allows you to get involved in numerous societies that the Student Union offers – from the Israel Society and the Palestinian Society to Yoga or Good Food Society. No pressure to sit in the library 24/7!

The other advantages of studying at SOAS is that it is situated in the heart of London, which as a global capital can offer you, if you try hard, anything you wish or fancy. SOAS is also a place where you can meet people from literally everywhere and start incredible friendships that will not only develop yourself, but will help you with your future career. And for social life at SOAS… chatting with your mates after the lectures down in the SOAS Bar is just priceless!
