All students are given help to adapt to the styles of teaching and learning at SOAS. Every student is assigned a personal tutor, while additional support is available from the Learning and Teaching Unit (LTU).
The LTU works alongside the faculties to ensure that you have the best opportunity for developing your writing and other aspects of your study. A series of talks and workshops cover subjects such as effective note-taking, reading for study, writing an academic essay, giving a presentation, managing your work and doing exams. Tutorial sessions are also available through the Learning and Teaching Unit and can be arranged when needed.
