Japan's Whaling Diplomacy: African Support?

Professor in the Department of Regional Environmental Studies at Rakuno Gakuen University in Sapporo, and a visiting research fellow at the University of Adelaide. Professor Morikawa is one of the pioneers of the study of Japan-Africa relations and the author of Japan and Africa: Big Business and Diplomacy (Hurst, 1997). His most recent publication in English is Whaling in Japan: Power, Politics and Diplomacy (Hurst and Company, 2009).
