Arts & Humanities Conference Allowance for Research Students
Post-Graduate Research Support
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities has a limited amount funding to partially meet the cost of conference attendance for PhD students nearing completion of their thesis. The maximum amount considered will be £300.00, though the actual grant may be less. Applications will only be considered if the student has a formal letter of acceptance from the conference convenor to give a paper.
Deadline:
Applications for the 2012-13 Academic Year will close on the 12th November 2012 for deadline 1 and 18th February 2013 for deadline 2. All applicants will be notified by e-mail.
Students wishing to apply should send an application to the Academic Support Team Leader, Carol Miles, by e-mail cm17@soas.ac.uk or hard copy (room 321).
NB – this funding is only available to students undertaking study in the following departments whose home faculty is Arts and Humanities – Anthropology and Sociology, History, History of Art and Archaeology, Music, Study of Religions, Centre for Media and Film Studies.
