About me
I currently work at the Refugee Council liaising with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations to deliver training on a range of topics that improve the understanding of refugee issues throughout organisations in the UK.  Acknowledging that refugees and asylum seekers in the UK are often vulnerable and traumatised by their past experiences, this training looks to enhance the knowledge and understanding of a range of services providers in the UK to help develop the best possible understanding of the needs of this group.

I found this vacancy as a result of already working with the Refugee Council as a volunteer client adviser, giving immigration advice to asylum seekers. My commitment to the organisation shown through volunteering was a key factor in getting my current position, as well as my knowledge of the sector.  I have found that having a very clear understanding of the organisation that you are applying to is beneficial in being successful at interview as well as being able to speak clearly and passionately about your interest in the field.
