Current job title and name of organisation
Vice President, Internal Audit Unicredit Bank AG

What do you like about what you do?
I particularly enjoy the privileged access to business management and decision makers that working in internal audit provides.  My job provides me with opportunities for travel and the chance to network across international boundaries and cultures.

How has your time at SOAS helped you succeed in this role?
My time at SOAS helped deepen my appreciation and respect for other cultures and also fired an interest in languages. Being able to relate to other people is critical in my job, and an appreciation of culture and a smattering of the language are always valuable.

Can you give current students any tips on getting into this kind of work?
Consider training in accountancy after your degree course.  It provides a useful skill set that is in demand in the financial services sector, and opens up numerous other opportunities.  Keep up to speed with economic and business news.  Look for opportunities for internships and placements. Banking is not flavour of the month at the moment - but it won't go away!
