Changing or leaving your course

If you are thinking about changing or leaving your course, you can make an appointment with a careers adviser who can help you to think through the implications for your career of such a change.

However, if you have any academic issues, you will need to talk to your personal tutor or other departmental representative. You can also contact a Welfare Adviser if you have any financial concerns, or a Student Counsellor if you have any personal problems that are prompting your change.  SOAS students who leave their course can access free and impartial support through Back on Course.

The Careers Service can offer you
  • a chance to talk over any career-related issues.
  • general information on changing or leaving your course. You can download the AGCAS produced booklet entitled 'Changing or leaving your course' here.
  • information on alternative options, including other courses, gap year options and work experience and placement vacancies.
