EBRD: About Us
Owned by 61 countries, the EU and the European Investment Bank, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has been supporting projects whose funding needs cannot be fully met by the market for two decades. We have operations in 29 countries from Central Europe to Central Asia, and we’re currently working on projects with a combined value of almost €180bn. This expansive reach means that we look to recruit exceptionally talented people from around the globe. Now it’s your chance to join them.

The Opportunity
The ERBD has a variety of challenging career prospects available for talented candidates, in everything from Banking, Economics and Finance, to International Law, International Relations, and Risk Management. We have openings at our headquarters in London, and in cities as diverse as Bucharest, St Petersburg, Istanbul or Ulaanbaatar.

This is also a crucial moment in the history of the Southern & Eastern Mediterranean (SEMED). It is a time for democracy to take root; a chance for livelihoods and economies to achieve the security and stability the people of the region deserve and demand. And as the EBRD encourages private investment and supports the growth of stable markets in consultation with people of Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia, promoting economic empowerment for all will be a fundamental part of everything we do.

Positions covering this new area will be as challenging and diverse as the region itself.  We are especially keen to meet people who have experience and knowledge of this region, and who speak fluent arabic.

What’s more, we’re also launching a recruitment drive for our International Professionals Programme (IPP) on 16 January 2012. It’s an opportunity like no other which offers you the chance to gain invaluable experience and build on your ambitions during an intensive 23-month development programme. Whichever route you chose, at EBRD the learning curve is steep, the ground covered broad and our aspirations for you extremely high. So expect to be pushed far outside your comfort zone – culturally and geographically as well as intellectually.

How to apply
The EBRD invites you to a presentation at SOAS at 1pm on Friday 3 February in the Brunei Suite, followed by a networking session over lunch.  We're looking to meet a host of passionate candidates to join us in positions as challenging and diverse as the regions we work in. So if you have what it takes and are looking for an exciting new career, come and see us to find out more.

Places are limited at this event, to register you need to email the Careers Service careers@soas.ac.uk with your name, student ID, subject and year group (e.g. 1st year, finalist, Masters). You will then receive instructions on how to submit your CV to the EBRD's recruitment database. EBRD will be using the CVs submitted to their recruitment database to arrange interviews with a small number of pre-selected students on site at SOAS after the networking session. If you wish to be considered for this you will need to register a place at the event by emailing the Careers Service and then submit a CV and cover letter to EBRD by January 21st at the latest.
