Recruiter-in-Residence sessions offer you the exclusive chance for 15 minutes of one to one advice with a recruiter from Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.

This Summer, Cancer Research UK is offering a number of internships to high-calibre individuals looking to gain work experience in the fields of fundraising, marketing, communications and campaigning. In the past, Cancer Research UK interns have done everything from planning large-scale fundraising events to relationship building with major donors: from championing campaigns at events for MPs to creating scientific resources for the health sector. The 3 month long, project–based internship scheme ensures all interns can make a real impact, whilst developing their skills in the context of one of the UK’s leading charities.

Recruiter in Residence is a great opportunity to ask direct questions about your personal career prospects, get feedback on your CV and get insight into the application and selection process. Please note this is neither a general information session nor a formal interview. It is a pre application advice session, personal to you. Ideal for students who are serious about a career in the healthcare charity sector. Candidates will be short listed for appointments with Cancer Research based on their CVs. Preference will be given to those interested in healthcare charities in general and/or Cancer Research specifically.

To sign up, you must email a copy of your CV to careers@soas.ac.uk. Once approved, you must come in person to Room G12 as a refundable £5 deposit is required to secure your place. All those who apply will be added to the Cancer Research recruitment mailing list to be notified about opportunities in the future. Please note, the internships are voluntary unpaid placements, although travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed.
