Teach First is an independent charity working to address one of the UK’s most damaging social issues – educational disadvantage. They recruit exceptional graduates and experienced professionals into a two-year leadership development programme, during which they become classroom teachers, engaging and inspiring young people. But the programme isn’t only about what you can give – it’s also about enhancing your own career possibilities. HSBC, Google, Accenture, Goldman Sachs and PwC are just a few of the organisations that support Teach First and have gone on to recruit their graduates after their two years on the programme.

Teach First are still recruiting current students and graduates for entry onto the leadership development programme in 2012. For the opportunities still open, they require applicants to have an  A-Level grade B or above in any of the following subjects: Modern Foreign Languages, Maths, Science (two A levels in either physics, biology or chemistry), ICT or Design & Technology. If you have any of these qualifications, you can sign up for a one-to-one session with a graduate Recruitment Officer from Teach First, who will tell you more about the programme and talk through the process of applying.

Candidates will be shortlisted for appointments based on their CVs. To sign up, you must email a copy of your CV to careers@soas.ac.uk. Once approved, you must come in person to Room G12 as a refundable £5 deposit is required to secure a place.
