Lindiwe Dovey Lindiwe Dovey Wins 2011 Director’s Teaching Prize

A senior lecturer in the Department of African Languages and Cultures, Dr Dovey impressed the judging panel with both her support of students and her creative teaching style.  Professor Philip Jaggar, the Head of the Africa Department, described her as “one of the most dynamic and innovative teachers I have worked with in 40 years.”

Professor Gurharpal Singh has been appointed the new Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). He will take up the position on 1 September 2011 when the current Dean, Professor Ian Brown, steps down.
