Advanced literature option for students of Hausa with a good reading knowledge of Hausa.
Prerequisites
Hausa 2(B) or equivalent.
Objectives and learning outcomes of the course
The objective of this course is to examine the content, style and context of a variety of literary genres in Hausa, essentially poetry and prose but also other genres. A further objective is to advance student's competence level in Hausa.
Hausa 3B equips students to read and analyse Hausa plays and poems at a intermediate/advanced level of complexity.
Workload
Total of 22 weeks teaching with 2 hours classroom contact per week.
Method of assessment
One written examination (100%) taken in May/June.
