Objectives and learning outcomes of the course
To give the student an opportunity to undertake an in-depth study of a writer/poet or a group of writers/poets who have influenced the development of Persian literature. Alternatively the student can make an inquiry into one of the major literary genres of Persian and show an understanding and awareness of literary history and theoretical applications.
Scope and syllabus
The Independent Study Project (ISP) is a piece of supervised independent work. It may be on any aspect of Hebrew and Israeli studies approved by the course tutor. Candidates research their projects, with guidance from the tutor and others as appropriate, during the first two terms and submit their results in the form of an academically acceptable essay.
