Prerequisites
Objectives and learning outcomes of the course
The course is designed for students who already have a basic grasp of classical literary Tibetan. At the end of the course students will have a familiarity with the characteristics of the historical and biographical styles in terms of vocabulary, grammar and subject matter.
Workload
Total of 22 weeks teaching with 3 hours classroom contact per week.Method of assessment
One three-hour written examination taken in May/June (70%); four pieces of (unseen) translation (30%).Suggested reading
A reading list will be given by the convenor at the beginning of the course.
