Objectives and learning outcomes of the course

To enable students, under expert guidance and supervision, to read and analyse representative samples of Urdu literature or material relating to Urdu culture not otherwise taught in sufficient depth elsewhere within the syllabus. The course will allow students to develop specialisms in accordance with their own academic interests. A theme or topic will be selected in consultation with the supervisor.

Workload

Total of 11 weeks teaching with 1 hour per week.

Method of assessment

One two-hour written examination taken in May/June (100%).
