Objectives and learning outcomes of the course
The objective of this course is to provide the student with the opportunity to explore significant Korean-language writing on a specific area of interest (e.g. literary, historical, linguistic, cultural) in greater depth and breadth than more traditional lecture-based courses permit. The student will thereby gain both insight into Korean perspectives on the subject (which may be significantly different to more familiar English-language perspectives) and a deeper understanding of the Korean language.
