ICDL Advanced - PowerPoint (LSHTM)
- Unit value:
ICDL Advanced
The ICDL Advanced qualification is designed to progress the computer skills benchmark from the ICDL to the next level of competence. It tests an individual's competence at a much higher level with particular applications. It is modular and a certificate is awarded for successfully passing the test for each module.
ICDL Advanced modules available in 2009 are:
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Presentations (PowerPoint)
- Databases (Access)
Participants may study for one or more of the above modules. It is not a requirement to pass the core ICDL before taking the advanced level, but a reasonably high standard of competence in the application concerned is required. The full syllabus for the Advanced ICDL is available at: http://www.ecdl.com/
The programme is flexible but will be intense. Some self-study will be required. Support will consist of classes (one session per week per module for four weeks) and informal drop in sessions. As with the ICDL, the amount of time needed to complete the programme will depend on your previous IT experience. There is a formal 1 hour test per module.
