Keeping Track of your Student's Progress and Achievement: The BLE Gradebook

Any new or existing BLE users on the SOAS staff. A basic knowledge of the BLE is useful but not essential.

Course Content:

The Gradebook is a powerful and often underused tool, allowing you to receive student assignments submitted electronically, update and edit their marks and generally keep track of individual and group progress in the course. In this hands-on session, we will look at some of the Gradebook functionality in the BLE, and some of the useful tools it contains to allow you to monitor and assess your students’ work online.

Lik Suen will demonstrate how she has been using the Gradebook with a number of her courses in the Centre for Chinese Studies.

Aims and Objectives:

  • To introduce participants to the basic functionality of the BLE Gradebook
  • To demonstrate some examples of its use
  • To discuss some of the benefits and challenges of using gradebook and how it can motivate your students and enhance their learning
  • To practise using the Gradebook on the BLE
