Strategic Review of IFCELS
In January 2009 a Green Paper setting out options for the future of IFCELS was published by SOAS, commencing a period of consultation within the School on the role and future direction of the department which ended in February 2009.
Comments received in the consultation have been taken into account in the preparation of a White Paper, which presents proposals for the future of IFCELS and a timetable and process for their implementation. The White Paper has now been published, following its consideration by SOAS’s Governing Body on 20 March 2009. Comments received on the Green Paper are reproduced in the White Paper in anonymised form.
A formal consultation process with staff affected by the proposals and the staff trade unions is now underway, following which a final decision on the way forward for IFCELS will be taken by SOAS’s Executive Board.
