In Memoriam - Elisabeth Croll CMG
Vice-Principal of SOAS and Professor of Chinese Anthropology in the University of London
In memory and celebration of the life and work of Professor Elisabeth Croll, and with the agreement of her family, the Director of SOAS and his colleagues have created a permanent endowment to be held by SOAS in support of charitable academic purposes. The uses of the fund will be decided by a panel comprising the Director of SOAS ex officio, an external member of Governing Body appointed by the Chair, currently Elizabeth Wright, and a member of Professor Croll's family (her daughter Katherine). In the first instance, the panel has agreed to create an 'Elisabeth Croll bursary' which will be used to provide support for SOAS postgraduates carrying out fieldwork in China. Further details will be available in due course.
All support for this fund will be very gratefully received. Persons wishing to support this fund may make a contribution by cheque made out to SOAS (Elisabeth Croll Memorial Fund), and send it to Development & Alumni Office, School of Oriental and African Studies, Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London WC1H 0XG.
Alternatively you can make a donation by credit card online at https://secure.efundraising.org.uk/tailored/donation.asp?charity=71996
