Recent Developments in Equality and Diversity legislation

This site gives a brief description of the current and incoming legislation for each of the strands of diversity and equality.

Summary of the Equality Act 2010 and concepts related to harassment

The Equality Bill became the Equality Act 2010 when it received Royal Assent on 8 April 2010. All major provisions within the Bill have remained intact and the amendments tabled in the House of Lords were incorporated into the final version of the Bill. Very few provisions within the Equality Act will be implemented immediately, as most need to be enacted by Ministers now that the General Election is finished.
