Recent Developments in Equality and Diversity Legislation
In June 2006 the Work and Families Act 2006 received Royal Assent. From April 2007. This gave staff who care for adults the right to request flexible working in addition to these who are parents of children The Act also contains more provisions for parents: paternity leave following birth or adoption will be available for longer periods: and maternity and adoption pay will be payable for longer periods.
