Guitar Special Double Bill: Muntu Valdo / Ahmed Dickinson

Muntu Valdo comes from Cameroon, where he grew up in the cosmopolitan cities of Yaounde and Douala. A guitarist, singer and harmonica player, he started writing his own music at the age of 15, developing a unique, colourful style, honed on stage next to names like Lokua Kanza and Richard Bona.

Ahmed Dickinson was born in Havana, Cuba, and studied classical guitar both at home and then in London. A sophisticated virtuoso on his instrument, he is a specialist in music by Cuban composers, from classical works to the more contemporary ‘filin’ movement.
