El-Andaluz play classical Arabic and Andalusian music, led by oud player Yazid Fentazi who has performed with Cheb Mami, Cheb Sahraoui and the Turqui Brothers. He is accompanied by Karim Dellali on darbouka, Frank Biddulph on violin and Hamid Bouri on bass. With their music they take the audience on a wonderful journey around the southern shores of the Mediterranean: from a poetic Andalusian nuba to the trance-like Sufi music of the Sahara, on to a classical Egyptian raqs sharqi dance, often ending the evening with the celebratory chaabi music of Algeria, which never fails to get the audience up on their feet and dancing.
