Introduction
The Japan Research Centre at SOAS will host the triennial conference of the British Association of Japanese Studies on 9-10 September 2010. We are looking forward to two full days of roundtables, workshops, panels and papers, with some 100 presenters from the UK, Europe, Japan and beyond, including a plenary address by Ueno Toshiya, noted cultural studies scholar and media theorist.

Please note that there are discounts for early registration and for BAJS members, as follows. BAJS membership provides a number of benefits and is free to postgraduate students. Application and payment for BAJS membership can be submitted together with conference registration.

Payment may be made by credit card, cash or cheque. Cancellations received after 15 August 2010 will not receive a refund. All cancellations must be made in writing.
The conference dinner on Thursday, 9 September is now fully booked.

While it is possible to register on the day, we would encourage all attendees to do so in advance to avoid delays during the conference itself. Please note that while registration provides admission to the conference overall, we cannot guarantee a place at particular sessions, which are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
