Booking your tickets

You have to book a place for you and your guests for the Graduation Ceremony.

Please do it online using our online booking system.

The final deadline for booking is Tuesday 30 June 2015.

Please ensure that you read the terms and conditions.

If you’re in your final year, you don’t have to wait for your results. We’ll refund the cost of tickets in full if you or any of your guests find you’re unable to attend – as long as you let us know before the booking deadline above. There’s more information in the Refund Policy section below.

We’ll ask you for your preferred name and a pronunciation guide when you book. Please let us know if you’d like to be called up by a shortened version of your name. Unfortunately, we can’t call you up by a name that doesn’t form part of your official name.

How much does it cost?

Tickets for graduands are free and £30 each for guests.

This includes entry to the reception after the Ceremony. You can get tickets for just the reception on the day for £15.

How many tickets can I book?

You can book places for yourself and up to 2 guests. If there are spare seats after the booking deadline, we’ll allocate extra guest tickets to those who booked earliest.

For guests without seats in the main Graduation hall we’ll be showing the event by the video link in the Viewing Suite. You’ll also be able to buy separate tickets for the reception on the day.

We can’t allow children under the age of 10 in the main Ceremony, but they’re welcome to sit in the Viewing Suite if they’re with an adult.

CeDEP Masters Graduands

If you’re graduating from a CeDEP Masters programme, you’re invited to the Graduation Ceremony, but you won’t be able to book your tickets online.

We have a manual system set up for these programmes and we’ll email you with details on what you need to do.

Our ticket refund policy

Refunds before the booking deadline

If you’ve bought your tickets and find that you can’t come or you’re not eligible, let us know by logging onto the Student Information Desk (SID)  and selecting 'Request a Service'. From the list of categories select 'Graduation' and click on 'Graduation Refund Application'.  You can access SID at www.soas.ac.uk/sid

We’ll send you a refund form – please fill it in and send it back so we can process the refund as quickly as possible.

Refunds after the booking deadline

If you need a refund on your ticket(s) after the booking deadline, let us know by logging onto the Student Information Desk (SID)  and selecting 'Request a Service'. From the list of categories select 'Graduation' and click on 'Graduation Refund Application'.


Unfortunately, if it’s after the booking deadline, we won’t be able to guarantee a full refund, as we will have included your order in catering and other provisions already. We look at requests on an individual basis, and we’ll process them after the Graduation Ceremonies. The latest date you can apply for a partial refund is the 17th August 2015.
