Ordering Your Gown
It is not compulsory to wear a gown for your ceremony, but nearly all SOAS graduands do.
Our supplier for graduation gowns is Ede & Ravenscroft.
Gowns should be ordered as soon as possible http://www.gownhire.co.uk
If you have any questions or queries, please contact Ede & Ravenscroft

Collecting Your Gown
Gowns are collected and fitted on the day of your ceremony. Please allow ample time for collection as there will be many other graduands to be gowned. Gowning will take place in Jeffrey Hall, level one of the Institute of Education.
You must return your gown to Ede and Ravenscroft before you leave SOAS.
What to Wear
Most graduands and guests dress formally for graduation ceremonies, but SOAS does not impose a dress code. You are of course welcome to wear national dress.
It will be easiest to attach your hood if you wear a button-through blouse or shirt, otherwise, it is a good idea to bring some safety pins to secure it.
The stairs onto the stage are quite steep and you may wish to consider this when choosing footwear.
