BLE Detailed Copyright Guide: when can I put Material on the BLE without Infringing Copyright?
Assuming that you can't set up a link to it, academic staff can place an item on the BLE without violating copyright if:
- You or SOAS owns the copyright in the item; or
- The item is covered by our licence with the Copyright Licencing Agency; or
- Your use of the item represents fair dealing for criticism, review or reporting current events; or
- The material is out of copyright; or
- You have permission from the copyright owner.
- The item is copied for examination purposes.
These situations are examined in more detail in the following sub-sections of this guidance.
