Student mental health issues & Fitness to Study policies

Request

1.) Does your institution have a “Fitness to Study” or “Fit to Study” policy?  If so, please could you let me have a copy.

For the following questions I would like the data for the past five years, with the data broken down into each academic year from September 2008 onwards.

2.) If you have a Fitness to Study Policy the total number of students suspended or excluded under this policy.

3.) Total number of students at your institution.

4.) Total number of students registered as having a mental health issue.

5.) Numbers of students accessing mental health services over the past five years.

1.) SOAS does not have an approved Fitness to Study or Fit to Study Policy.

5.) This depends on how “mental health services” are defined. SOAS has a Mental Health and Wellbeing service, and the following figures include students who have accessed that service. However, they do not include students who have accessed the counselling service, where figures are much higher.
