CIS Seminar Series
G51, Wednesdays 1-2pm
Convener: Professor MAS Abdel Haleem
The Centre of Islamic Studies Seminar Series aims to provide a forum in which lectures are presented on a wide variety of subjects relating to the Arab world and Islamic tradition, both past and present. Papers address issues of specific academic and general interest in the field, in combination with topics of relevance to contemporary Muslim life in Britain and interfaith relations. The invited speakers are drawn from a range of academic and professional backgrounds, and include visiting scholars and associates of the Centre from both within the UK and the wider international community.
The Seminar Series is held on Wednesdays, during term-time, between 1-2 pm. Seminars are free and open to the public as well as SOAS staff and students (unless otherwise stated), and visiting scholars and interested members of the public are welcome.
Should you wish to be kept informed of Centre of Islamic Studies activities please email your request to be put on the Centre’s mailing list to cis@soas.ac.uk leaving your name and email address.
