Abstract
This talk will look at the representations of Japan's wartime past in the popular genre of television drama - do we find a faithful portrait of how it was, or will the past have to be shaped in order to be fit for the audiences in the present?
Speaker biography
PhD at the University of Trier in 2008, working as Lecturer in Contemporary Japanese Culture at the Department of Japan and Korea at SOAS, research interests include representations of Otherness in Japanese media, but also representations of the Second World War in Japanese Television.
