Assessment for Course Placement
SOAS Language Centre requests all applicants who are not total beginners to contact us to arrange a placement interview, consisting of written and spoken assessment, in order for us to place you in the course most suited to your language level and needs.
Normally our scheduled courses teach all four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Please read under Aims and Methods in our course descriptions to check if all skills are covered. If, therefore, you are a total beginner in one of the skills covered in the course, we need to place you in a beginners course and you do not need to go through the placement procedure.
All other non-beginner applicants should complete and submit an Application Form (including payment details) and Needs Analysis Form. On receipt we will contact you to arrange a date for your assessment interview.
