Description
A one-year course in Levantine Arabic for beginners.
The course is aimed at complete beginners and is designed to enable learners to communicate in spoken Levantine Arabic within a limited range of everyday situations using the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The course introduces the students to the Arabic writing system and enables them to read and write basic words and sentences. Emphasis is placed on the learner’s ability to speak and listen.
The course is taught in English and Arabic using contemporary printed and audio/video material. There is a balance between communicative activities, structure practice, grammar and vocabulary. Class size is normally limited to fifteen students to maximize interactive learning potential.
