Korean Beginners Course

A one-year course for learners of elementary spoken and written Korean, at SOAS Language Centre in London

This is a one-year course with three terms of ten weeks.

Description

The course aims to provide a thorough introduction to basic Korean with the accent on practical spoken Korean; to provide familiarity with the Korean pronunciation and script; coverage of basic grammar and essential vocabulary and the ability to communicate within a limited range of situations.

Method

The course is taught in English and Korean and includes coverage of the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing and a balance between communicative activities, structure practice and grammar. Class size is limited to fifteen to allow close involvement.

Timetable

Classes will be held at the Bloomsbury or Kings Cross Campus of SOAS in central London on one evening a week or Saturday daytime. Participants receive 20 hours of language tuition over a ten-week period (with additional weeks where public holidays displace a class session). See our timetable page.
