Description
This course at SOAS Language Centre in London aims to expand and improve your knowledge and use of Korean vocabulary in context. Intended for intermediate level learners who have completed beginners level at SOAS Language Centre or elsewhere, the course covers the vocabulary required for spoken or written conversations like this one:
여행 (trip, travel):
배낭여행 (backpacking), 단체여행 (group tour), 졸업여행 (graduation trip), 수학여행 (school trip), 신혼여행 (honeymoon), 해외여행 (overseas trip),여행객 (traveller), 여행지 (travel destination), 여행사 (travel agency), 여권 (passport)
이번 휴가에는 해외여행을 가려고 합니다. 혼자 갈까 친구하고 같이 갈까, 단체여행을 갈까 배낭여행을 갈까, 그럼 여행지는 어디로 갈까… 여행객이 많지 않고, 볼거리가 많고, 맛있는 음식을 먹을 수 있는 곳… 이런 곳에 가고 싶습니다. 어디가 좋을까요?
I am going to travel overseas this holiday. Do you think I should go alone or with friends? On a group tour or backpacking? And where? Umm, some place that’s not packed with tourists, where there’s lots to see and of course delicious food to eat. That’s where I want to go. So where could that be?
A range of contemporary topics will be covered.

Fees for this Course
The fee for each ten-week term is £240 payable in advance.
This course is subsidised by the Sejong Institute (Ministry of Culture, Republic of Korea) in order to encourage the learning and teaching of Korean worldwide, allowing us to set a lower fee. In order to obtain this fee subsidy we are required to forward your name to Sejong Institute in the Republic of Korea (thus outside of the EEA - European Economic Area). Only your name and the course title and dates will be forwarded, no other identifying data.
