Please note:

  • DeFiMS open options are NOT available to First year students, they are only available to Returning students. Availability of courses is explained in the header of each section below.
  • There is a LIMIT OF 10 Open Option students per course. E-mail notification will be sent to those whose selection IS approved and whose selection IS NOT approved, for confirmation purposes. Therefore being able to select the course on course sign up does not confirm approval of choice. Those whose choices are not approved will then need to re-select. Therefore students are advised to select open options in advance of the deadline.
  • A number of courses have pre-requisites as noted.
  • When selecting two half unit open options, the number of courses taken in each term would be expected to remain equal e.g. one would not take two Term 2 open options leading to three courses being taken in Term 1 and five in Term 2.
  • Students are strongly advised to sign up for DeFiMS Open Options as soon as possible due to limited places.
Year 1 DeFiMS courses – available as an open option to year 2 students only
Year 2 DeFiMS courses – available as open options to year 2 and year 3/final year students only
