Series: Dissertation/Thesis Library Workshops 2013

Are you preparing for your dissertation or are you interested in finding out more about how you can use Library and electronic resources to support your research?

If so, you may want to attend a Library workshop. Sessions are designed to be flexible to respond to students' interests, but in general will cover the following topics:

  1. Literature searching using bibliographic databases to find details of books, journal articles, theses etc.
  2. Locating materials online - in electronic journals & on the Internet
  3. Finding materials in other libraries and how to access them

Places are limited so please register online if you would like to attend. When you register you will be asked for details on your research topic to help us to plan the sessions. Register at: http://soasmarch1.eventbrite.co.uk

NB: these sessions will not cover non-western language databases or law databases in detail. If you are interested in these topics please e-mail bc3@soas.ac.uk and we will pass on your details to the relevant subject librarian.

All sessions will be held in room E17 on the ground floor of the Library (Level E). Workshops are timetabled for one hour but you are welcome to stay longer to practice using databases.
