Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology

British Museum
Founded in 1753. Fitzwilliam Museum
Founded in 1816. Contains antiquities from Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome , Roman and Romano-Egyptian, Western Asiatic and Cypriot Art and Oriental art.
Museum of East Asian Art
Founded as the result of a donation from Brian McElney. Contains ceramics, bamboo carvings, Chinese metal ware and other decorative arts. Particular attention is given to the museum's educational role, with regular lectures, special exhibitions as well as new publications.
Oriental Museum, University of Durham
Founded in 1930. Devoted to the art and archaeology of Asia, covering the Near East, South-East Asia, Tibet, China, Japan, Ancient Egypt, the Islamic World and India.
Pitt Rivers Museum
Founded in 1884. Contains over half a million archaeological and ethnographical objects from around the world.
Sainsbury Centre for Visual Art
Robert and Lisa Sainsbury collection, which includes non-Western art from Africa, Asia , Oceania and the Americas.
Victoria and Albert Museum
Founded in 1852. Contains furniture, fashion, textiles, paintings, silver, glass, ceramics, jewellery, books, prints and photographs, illustrating the artistic life of many different cultures.
