FIRST: Facts on International Relations and Security Trends

Access to an extensive list of databases covering information on armed forces, arms production, conflicts and peacekeeping, country indicators and statistics, governments, nuclear weapons, military expenditure and news. Search by country or multiple countries to find extensive statistics on all countries of the world. Also includes the free online version of World Development Indicators (2000 edition).


National Statistics: Focus on... [Gender, Ethnicity and identity, People and migration]

Each overview in the ‘Focus on…’ series combines data from the 2001 UK Census and other sources to illustrate its topic, and provide links to further information. The online overviews will be followed up with more comprehensive analysis in fuller reports.


The Coffee Guide

Useful reference materials produced by the International Trade Centre at UNCTAD/WTO. Cover areas like mainstream coffee markets, niche markets, logistics, futures markets and trade credit. Click on the list of links to go to text boxes explaining each section. Good for teaching or for student who are researching this commodity for projects. United Nations Population Division

United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD)

Access to a wide range of statistics, including social indicators, country profiles (social and economic development indicators), energy, industrial and trade statistics.


World Income Inequality Database

Database of income data on 149 countries (1950 to 1998), produced by the Social Development and Poverty Elimination Division of the United Nations Development Programme. Restricted coverage of the database can be viewed on the Web and the full version can be downloaded into Microsoft Access.
