The Independent

New country-focused service from ELDIS.

Global NewsBank
News articles covering politics, economics, culture, business, science, technology and the environment. Available off-site to SOAS staff and students only using a SOAS id and password.

IRIN (Integrated Regional Information Networks)
Part of UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs but editorially independent. News and analysis on Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia for the humanitarian community. Networks target decision-makers in relief agencies, host and donor governments, human-rights organisations, humanitarian advocacy groups, academic institutions and the media. Also seeks to ensure affected communities can access reliable information to enable informed decisions.
