British Library Asia, Pacific and Africa Collections
The British Library has important collections in the languages of South East Asia. The collections are particularly strong in Malay, Indonesian, Burmese and Thai. The East India Company records relate to various parts of South East Asia that came under Company administration.
The National Archives
This is the national archive of England, Wales and the United Kingdom. Material relating to South East Asia will be found in the files of various government departments including the Colonial Office, the Foreign Office and the War Office.
The National Library of Australia's Asian Collections
The National Library houses the largest and most actively developing research resource on Asia in Australia, with holdings of over half a million volumes. The Indonesian Collection is the largest collection of Indonesian language material in Australia and one of largest contemporary collections in the world. University of Hawaii at Manoa Southeast Asia Collection
The Southeast Asia collection at the University of Hawaii at Manoa is particularly strong on contemporary publications from Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
