Members of the SCONUL Access scheme

Please note that there are restrictions on admissions from 15th April to 30th May 2013.

SOAS is fully participating in this scheme. For more information on the Scheme and to find out if your institution is participating please visit the SCONUL Access website.

If you wish to join SOAS Library under the SCONUL Access scheme please obtain an SCONUL Access application form from your home institution where it must be authorised. Your Library will then issue you with an SCONUL Access card which you should produce when you visit SOAS Library.

To join SOAS Library:
  • You can apply immediately on arrival at the Library.
  • Student ID and SCONUL Access card must be shown.
  • You will need to complete a SOAS Library membership form.
  • Once you have joined the Library you will be allowed borrowing access or reference privileges dependent upon your status.

SOAS offers membership in Bands A, B and C. Reference applicants will be issued with day passes for the first 3 visits; if you require further access to the Library after 3 visits you will be issued with an external reference card.

Please note: this scheme does not allow you to borrow one week loan books or books from the Short-Loan Collection nor does it entitle you to use the electronic resources in SOAS Library.

This scheme does not affect existing arrangements in place between SOAS and other University of London Colleges.
