Mehregan Festival at SOAS

The programme includes opening talks by Dr Namdar Baghayi and Dr Shahrokh Vafadari, followed by a talk by Dr Mahmoud Kavir and Persian poetry by Dr Manouchehr Javaher Kalam. After an interval there will be an orchestral performance of Iranian Classical Music with the vocalist Dr Maziar Sadri. The orchestra will consist of a mixure of Iranian and classical instruments and Doctor Sadri will perform some old and new classical Iranian songs in Persian modal systems.
