The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have grown strongly in recent years as they have benefited from high oil prices and domestic policy reforms. Key challenges remain to be addressed however, particularly in terms of diversifying their economies away from the current reliance on oil and creating jobs for their growing working  age populations. The presentation will discuss the IMF's assessment of the economic outlook in the GCC countries, assess the main risks these economies are facing, and discuss the policy challenges they are facing, with a particular focus on fiscal and labor market issues.
