UG Certificate in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (CTAFL)

Contact: Yousef Omar
Status: To be run on an intensive basis from 2011

Aim

The aim of this programme is to provide and equip students with the knowledge and skills which will enable them to teach Arabic as a Foreign Language as a newly qualified teacher and to enable students to develop practical skills in teaching Arabic through provision of teaching practice to groups of learners of Arabic.

Background

This was the first CETL and LC developed programme which ran successfully for 3 years. In response to the student cohort each year it was decided that the postgraduate Certificate and Diploma would take its place as a part-time programme. The LC is interested in running the CTAFL programme intensively in the future.
